Collaborative Learning Across Borders: Partnering Nursing Students, Faculty and Communities

Two nursing students from Canada, Candice Rochford from the University of Prince Edward Island in Prince Edward Island and Donna Mann from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, will arrive in Columbia April 15 and will be here for 10 days, hosted by Verna and Jim Rhodes, retired MU faculty, and Carol Duke of St. Louis University. The first two days they will tour the MU campus and participating in nursing classes and in a clinical day with the students in community health. On Wednesday, April 22, they will spend a day with a nurse practitioner faculty at the Fulton Medical Clinic, tour Westminster College and then the capitol at Jefferson City. In St. Louis they have more tours of hospitals, clinics, the arch, and Midwest culture. After their visit to Missouri, the exchange students travel to the University of Iowa in Iowa City for an additional ten days.
