Collaborative Learning Across Borders: Partnering Nursing
Students, Faculty, and Community

The University of Missouri-Columbia Sinclair School of
Nursing; the University of Iowa College of Nursing; two
Canadian universities - Dalhousie University and the University
of Prince Edward Island; and two Mexican universities
- Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and
Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí,
are participating in a North American Mobility in Higher
Education Project, sponsored in part by the Fund for Improvement
of Post-Secondary
Education (FIPSE), U.S.

This
multi-dimensional program will provide opportunities for
undergraduate students and registered nurses to:

Explore the role of the nurse within each country's health-care system
- Grow
in multicultural awareness and recognition of specific health-care beliefs and values held by people from each country
- Participate
in a cultural immersion experience

2006
Students and registered nurses take the web-enhanced course.
- Spring/Summer
2006
Students and registered nurses participate in a local clinical
experience or in a cultural immersion experience in México
or Canada.
